Christmas

If you were dreaming of a White Christmas this year...you got one here! My brother and family had planned to come down the Tuesday before Christmas and stay through Christmas day. It was going to be the first time they saw Austin too b/c of weather, sickness and Josh's work schedule. Well, they still haven't been able to make the trip. My mom was sick and snowed in at her apartment and they cancelled Christmas Eve service. Which meant, we had a very quiet Christmas and enjoyed time as a family. With Brett's work schedule we don't get to do that very often so it was nice.

Even though church was cancelled, we still celebrated the real reason for the season. Happy Birthday Jesus!
The girls did open a few gifts. They did get their first Barbies this year (3 musketeer Barbies were the Santa request), a few DVDs and books this year. Brett "had" to get them dart (actually balls) gun....which is more for him I think...haha!
On Saturday, Grandma Harsh and Gavin made it to our house. The girls had a blast with them. Gavin even let the girl paint his toe nails with the polish their cousin Morgan gave them.

Sunday Uncle Nathan and Holly joined us and we had a good time together. During lunch we started playing the "telephone" game. Starting with one person telling the person beside them a secret and then it was passed all around the table....too funny what it ended up as! Kaylee talks so quiet and she blows in your ear. Jaylin tries to be quiet, but actually isn't until about half-way through the secret! For some reason Kaylee insisted upon putting her hand on Nathan's head...like she was able to transfer the message without words! Austin was just hanging out and sleeping through most of it!

Grandma got them big dolls along with a few other things.

All and all...we enjoyed the time we got to spend with Grandma Harsh and Gavin. The girls even got to stay with them while Mom and Austin went to the Dr. Everything checked out good except for my split abdominal wall. It has herniated to the point that it will require surgery. We are going to try and hold off on surgery until I am done nursing Austin. If I can tolerate the pain associated with it. I don't have a weight update on Austin until his 2 month appointment, but I can estimate it to be around 12 lbs as he is growing out of the 0-3 month clothes...eat, sleep and grow, all things he is very good at!
